What should I do if I can't access a database or research tool I found online?

If you are unable to access a database or research tool:

Some databases have specific log in instructions. These can usually be found by searching the resource within the Databases A-Z.

For most databases (without specific log in instructions):

  • On-site users will be recognised as a UCL user and will be able to access the database without logging in
  • Off-site users, accessing from a computer outside the UCL network, will be prompted automatically to log in via the UCL Single sign-on using their UCL username and password
  • Some resources are freely available and these do not require login
