Q. How do I add the Zotero tab to the Word ribbon?

When you install Zotero Desktop on your computer, the Word Plugin should automatically install on your computer. The Zotero tab will appear in Word when you restart it and open a new Word document. if this does not happen automatically you can install the Word plugin manually. To do this, follow these instructions:

  1. Close your word processor.
  2. In Zotero Desktop, open the Preferences dialogue box.
  3. Select Cite from the tabbed menu. There are two tabs under 'Cite' (1) Styles and (2) Word Processors.
  4. Select Word Processors and Install Microsoft Word Add-in.
