Q. I have a book that has been recalled/requested but I cannot return it. Can the recall/request be cancelled?

Answer

Unfortunately, we are unable to cancel item recalls at this time as the library service is continuing to operate as it has been since September, to continue to support teaching and learning across the university. The recall means that another person is currently in need of this title, and we would be grateful if you can return it to us, however you would not be penalized for its late return. You may find Royal Mail’s new parcel collection service of use: https://www.royalmail.com/collection.

We are currently accepting items by post at:

University College London
Library Services
INSERT RELEVANT LIBRARY NAME
Library Book Returns
Gower Street

UK

Although we cannot take them off your library record immediately, they will be safely stored for our 72-hour quarantine period and then returned as soon as possible.

If you are unable to post the item back, please let us know so we can let the requester know.
